I’m Ponnapa, a 500-hour certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with over 20 years of personal practice and a deep commitment to supporting individuals on their journey of self-discovery and healing through yoga. My approach is grounded in the transformative power of yoga to nurture the mind and body, providing a space for growth, resilience, and personal transformation.
In addition to yoga, I bring nearly 20 years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, initially as a crisis hotline operator, emergency shelter staff, and currently as a crime victim advocate. These roles have allowed me to witness firsthand the profound benefits yoga can offer in fostering emotional healing and helping individuals reclaim their strength, regardless of their past experiences.
With a background in psychology, I have found a powerful synergy between my professional training and my passion for yoga. My classes are designed to create a safe, inclusive environment where students can explore mindfulness, resilience, and healing—whether or not they have experienced trauma. I believe that yoga is a universal tool for growth, and I work with each individual to help them tap into their inner potential, cultivate self-awareness, and embrace personal transformation, both on and off the mat.
Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, I welcome you to join me in this empowering journey.
